Journalist Training

Face to face

David has travelled the world helping journalists become better storytellers. He’s worked in Russia, Pakistan, India and Africa and has the fridge magnets to prove it.

Zoom has made training more democratic; anyone can join in no matter where they are. Sessions now regularly involve people from several countries at once, often via interpreters.

Journalist training

David is a freelance trainer with the BBC Academy, creating courses and sessions aimed at training the next generation of programme makers and journalists in the UK and abroad.

His innovative techniques have helped hundreds of journalists and multi-skilled staff working on TV and radio programmes across the spectrum… from Newsnight on BBC2 to Newsround on children’s channel CBBC.

He’s also trained staff at ITV – including the This Morning production team – and run courses for the National Union of Journalists.
